KKR's mentor Gautam Gambhir filmed his farewell video at Eden Gardens, indicating his anticipated appointment as India's next Head Coach, replacing Rahul Dravid. Under Gambhir's guidance, KKR clinched the IPL trophy after a decade-long wait.

Reports reveal that Gambhir's departure from KKR is imminent as he prepares to take on the new role with the Indian cricket team. The farewell video shot at the Eden Gardens, serves as a tribute to his association with the Kolkata-based franchise.

A Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) official confirmed Gambhir's presence at Eden Gardens on July 5. Gambhir had arrived in Kolkata to officially bid farewell to KKR, where his mentorship led to a remarkable IPL victory after 10 years.

This marked a full-circle moment for Gambhir, who had returned to KKR in November last year after a significant gap, following his previous stint as the team's captain, during which he secured two IPL titles.

After leaving KKR before the 2018 season, Gambhir joined Delhi Capitals (DC) and later retired as a player that same year. He then spent two years mentoring the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) before being personally requested by Shah Rukh Khan to return to KKR ahead of the 2024 season, which proved fruitful for KKR as they clinched their coveted IPL trophy.
