Gifted Indian batter Shubman Gill had a torrid outing in the second T20I against Zimbabwe as he was dismissed for two runs off Blessing Muzarabani's bowling. After India opted to bat, Gill walked out to open the batting for the visitors alongside fellow Punjab batter Abhishek Sharma.

While the swashbuckling southpaw got going from the start, Gill managed only two runs before gifting his wicket to ace Zimbabwean speedster Muzarabani.

The incident occurred in the second over of the Indian innings. As Muzarabani bowled a full-length delivery, Gill hammered it straight to Brian Bennet, who took a simple catch at mid-off to help the hosts get the first breakthrough of the day.

Gill's failure didn't go well with the Indian fans, as they slammed him for his poor outing.

Netizens troll Gill with Kohli-Babar reference

While some fans pointed out Gill's modest performance outside Ahmedabad, some others questioned how he would replace Indian stalwart Virat Kohli, who recently announced his T20I retirement

Meanwhile, some Pakistani fans took the golden opportunity to share their verdicts on Gill's comparison with Babar Azam.

After Gill's departure, Ruturaj Gaikwad joined Abhishek Sharma in the middle. As of writing, India were 36 for one at the end of the powerplay, with Gaikwad and Sharma batting on 9* and 23*, respectively.
