Pakistan's premier fast bowler Abbas Afridi exhibited his batting skills, as he slammed a sensational fifty in Pakistan Shaheens' recently concluded T20 affair against Adelaide Strikers in the Top End T20 series. 

The Shaheens faced the Strikers in the semifinal of the tournament, where the latter recorded a comfortable victory over the former. However, amid the Shaheens' poor performance, Abbas Afridi shone brightly, hammering a magnificent half-century.

Batting first, Adelaide Strikers posted a mammoth total of 197 runs for the loss of five wickets. Jake Winter emerged as their wrecker-in-chief with the bat, smashing a quick-fire century, while Harry Manenti contributed 52 runs. 

Despite being expensive, Abbas Afridi was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan Shaheens, scalping three wickets for 51 runs. 

In response, the visitors had a horrible start to the chase, as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. However, amid his teammates' dismal show, Abbas stepped up with the bat, powering the Shaheens to a respectable total. 

The right-handed batter struck five glorious boundaries and three towering sixes for his belligerent knock. 

In spite of his valiant efforts, the Shaheens could muster 167 runs, falling short of the target by 31 runs. The defeat led to their elimination from the tournament, while the Strikers qualified for the final.
