Evin Lewis was out of West Indies team for almost two years, but made a successful comeback on the Sri Lankan tour. He hit fifty in his comeback T20I and a century on his ODI comeback and now after failing in the initial three T20Is against England, the southpaw has blasted 68 off just 31 balls to take West Indies to their first win of the series.

West Indies were chasing a massive target of 219 and they needed their openers to give a good start. Evin Lewis and Shai Hope did exactly that and produced a 136-run stand in just 55 balls to set a platform for an amazing win. Shai Hope scored 54 off just 24 balls while Evin Lewis hit seven sixes and four 4s in his 68-run knock.

West Indies' Open Account With Record Run-Chase

Lewis started cautiously and has just 23 runs in his initial 19 balls. However, the batters pressed on the accelerator in the eighth over and blasted three sixes and two fours in an over against Livingstone. He then took on Sam Curran and launched two balls into the crowd. It paved way for a superb start to the run-chase and even though he departed in the 10th over, cameos by Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford helped West Indies get over the line.

In the first half, Jacob Bethell displayed his class and smashed 62 of just 32 balls while Phil Salt also hit 55 off 35 balls. West Indies though managed to outpower them and though the home team has lost the series, the win against a strong England unit led by Jos Buttler would give them lot of confidence.
