In the opening match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), Rishabh Pant, captain of Purani Delhi-6, made an explosive impact before his departure, contributing 35 runs to his team's total.
After South Delhi Superstarz won the toss, they aimed to restrict Purani Delhi-6, but Pant showcased his trademark aggressive style, setting the tone for the innings.
However, in the 15th over, right-arm medium pacer Kunwar Bidhuri from South Delhi Superstarz managed to dismiss the Indian star. On the second ball of the over, Bidhuri delivered a short-of-a-length delivery, banged into the pitch.

Pant attempted to pull the ball towards the leg side but mistimed it, resulting in a top-edge. The ball soared into the air, and mid-off fielder Priyansh Arya comfortably positioned himself under it to secure the catch.
Earlier in the innings, Arpit Rana's brilliant 59 was the cornerstone of Purani Delhi-6's effort, ensuring they set a competitive target. Pant's quickfire contribution further bolstered the total, although his early departure left the game finely balanced.
At the time of writing, Purani Delhi-6 stands at 155 for 3 after 17 overs, with Lalit Yadav and Vansh Bedi at the crease.
