The 2nd semi-finals of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy between Delhi and Madhya Pradesh is underway at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. MP won the toss and opted to field first. 

Delhi got off to a brilliant start but lost two openers in a short time. Both openers returned to the pavilion at the score of 54. Meanwhile, skipper Ayush Badoni took the onus on his shoulders and tried to save his team from the collapse. 

Iyer Has The Last Laugh Against Badoni

Badoni hogged the headlines after he smashed a six to KKR's 23.75 crore buy Venkatesh Iyer on the first ball of his spell. Badoni looked to take on Iyer, but the MP star had the last laugh as he took revenge on the subsequent delivery. 

The incident occurred on the first ball of the 12th over when he hit Venkatesh Iyer for maximum. On the second ball of the same over, Badoni went for another six but was caught out at the boundary ropes. At the time of writing this article, Delhi are 127/5 after 18.3 overs. 

Ayush Badoni Struggling In SMAT 2024

Delhi are in brilliant form in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 but skipper Badoni is struggling with the bat. He played one good knock against Himachal Pradesh when he scored 70, but in the rest of the matches, he he couldn't even breach the 30+ runs mark. 

Talking about Badoni's form, he has amassed just 180 runs in eight innings and has averaged 22.50.
