The third and final ODI between Bangladesh and West Indies is underway at Warner Park in the Caribbean. The hosts won the toss and elected to field first. The decision turned out to be a masterstroke as they took two early wickets.
Litton Das On The Brink Of His Worst Calender Year In ODIs
Alzarri Joseph was the star with the ball as he took two initial wickets. The highlight was Litton Das' wicket, who registered a silver duck. Das is having a year to forget as it was his last match in ODIs in 2024.
It is worth noting that it was Das' third duck of the year and he has amassed just 6 runs in 5 matches in 2024, averaging just 1. On the 4th ball of the 3rd over, Das went for a poor shot and it produced a thick outside edge. Meanwhile, Brandon King made no mistake at the slips.
With the dismissal, Das is making things difficult for himself as he is already under the scanner for his poor show in 2024.
Alzarri Joseph Shines With A Double Wicket Over
Das was Joseph's second scalp of that over. On the 2nd ball of the 3rd over, Joseph bowled a beautiful short-pitched delivery. Meanwhile, Tanzid Hasan tried to pull it but couldn't time the delivery. Eventually, Rutherford made no mistake and took a simple catch.
At the time of writing this article, Bangladesh have pulled themselves out of the trouble and are 114/2 on the board. Soumya Sarkar has smashed a fifty, while skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz has also scored a fifty.
