After restricting Sri Lanka to a subpar total of 124/9 in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 match, the Bangla Tigers found themselves in a difficult condition as they lost wickets at regular intervals. 

Things went from bad to worse when Bangladesh lost the wicket of Towhid Hridoy, who was in good form and played some commendable shots. 

In the 11th over of Bangladesh's innings, Towhid Hridoy showcased his aggressive batting against Wanindu Hasaranga with a hat-trick of sixes. He slog-swept a full-length ball outside the off stump over the mid-wicket fence for his first six of the over. 

He extended his onslaught with another six, clearing the mid-wicket field again. He continued his assault and punched a full-length delivery over extra cover for yet another six, making it a hat-trick of maximums.

Despite his brilliant hitting, Hridoy's wicket was a significant blow to Bangladesh as the Sri Lanka skipper took his revenge. He bowled a flighted delivery on the leg stump, spinning away from the right-hander. 

Hridoy went for the sweep and was beaten on the bottom edge. The ball thumped into the front pad as the Lankan players appealed for an LBW. After the on-field umpire gave it not out, the Sri Lankan skipper took a review without wasting further time. 

The UltraEdge reversed the decision as the ball pitched in line, the impact was straight and the ball struck the stumps. 

However, despite a few hiccups, Bangladesh eventually crossed the finish line, emerging victorious by two wickets.
