Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur went big against Gujarat Giants bowlers during her exhilarating cameo in the Eliminator match of the WPL 2025 season. Facing just 12 deliveries during the slog overs of the innings, the cricketer bludgeoned 36 runs with two boundaries and four huge sixes to catapult Mumbai Indians past the 200-run mark.

Harmanpreet seemingly took a special liking to Tanuja Kanwar, considering the senior batter belted the Gujarat Giants spinner for two boundaries and two huge sixes in a single over.

Batting at number four, Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur exploded with a 12-ball cameo of 36 runs before a runout from Meghna Singh halted her burgeoning stay off the final ball of the innings. Arriving to the crease at the start of the 17th over, Kaur opened up the shackles the following over by extracting 22 runs off Tanuja Kanwar, doing so with two boundaries and two huge sixes.

Mumbai Indians eventually mounted 213-4 from 20 overs after losing the toss and being invited to bat first by Gujarat Giants skipper Ashleigh Gardner. Following the early loss of opener and wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia for just 15 in the fifth over, Hayley Matthews and number three Nat Sciver-Brunt crafted 133 runs together for the second wicket from just 71 deliveries.

Matthews and Brunt cracked 77 runs each from 50 and 41 balls respectively before Harmanpreet Kaur’s 12-ball 36 fueled Mumbai Indians’ slog-overs charge.

For the Gujarat Giants, England based fast bowler Danielle Gibson picked up the wickets of Yastika Bhatia and Nat Sciver-Brunt to claim figures of 2-40. Kashvee Gautam also dismissed Hayley Matthews in the high-octane Eliminator match of the WPL 2025 season.
