The Hundred 2025 is all set to start on August 5, and the excitement around the upcoming edition has increased quite a lot, with IPL teams buying shares in various teams of the league. In this context, The Hundred draft on March 12 was expected to dish out some surprises, and it lived upto his billing, with big stars like James Anderson ignored.
The biggest surprise though was not even a single Pakistan player was selected in the draft, despite 45 players registering their name. It includes experienced as well as young Pakistan stars, and let's see who were the three most deserving players who missed out in the The Hundred 2025 draft.
1. Mohammad Amir
The left-arm pacer has retired from international cricket, but he is still going strong in franchise leagues around the world. He has the ability to pick wickets both with the new ball and at the death with plenty of tricks in his kitty. The English conditions would have helped his style of bowling as well and was quite impressive with two wickets in the only game he played last season.

As evident from the table, Amir has truckloads of experience and was quite impressive in the recently held ILT20 where he picked 14 wickets in 11 matches, bowling some critical overs for his side. Amir's biggest strength is his ability to understand the conditions and use his varied skillset and his experience would have been handy for any team in The Hundred 2025.
2. Saim Ayub
Saim Ayub, the young Pakistan opener is currently injured, but has already shown his potential at the international and domestic level, and his non-selection is also a big surprise. He is a powerful hitter of the cricket ball and has shown the game to exceed in varied conditions which could have helped teams in The Hundred.

In the above table, it is clear that he has started off his T20 career on a bright note, and has matured a lot in the last year or so, with success at the international level. In 2024, he hit three hundreds and five fifties across formats, and though he missed Champions Trophy 2025 due to injury, he is surely one of the most talented youngsters and deserved to play The Hundred 2025.
3. Shadab Khan
Shadab Khan is back in the Pakistan T20I side as vice-captain and is a good utility player with his all-round skills. He has the ability to run through the batting line-ups when he is on the song with the ball. His batting has improved by leaps and bounds in the last few years and has recently scored runs in first-class cricket too.
His T20I strike-rate is close to 140 while he has total 12 fifties in the shortest format. In PSL, he has even batted at number 4 and has played some match-winning knocks, and that flexibility to bat anywhere in the batting order along with his batting skills makes him a player that every team will love to have in a T20 team.
