Some things never change and Yuvraj Singh smashing Australian bowlers for fun is one of them. The cricketing legend rolled back the years in the International Masters League T20 2025 semi-final by playing a knock that felt straight out of the 2007 T20 World Cup semi-final against Australia.

In that iconic match, Yuvi had hammered 70 off 30 balls, leaving the Aussies shell-shocked. And guess what? He’s doing it again, this time in Raipur.

Yuvraj Singh’s Explosive Knock Leaves Fans Screaming ‘2007 All Over Again’

Yuvraj Singh doesn’t do slow starts and this match was no exception. Coming in after Pawan Negi’s dismissal, he wasted no time and got off the mark in some serious style. On the fifth ball of the seventh over, left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty tossed one up, and that was all the invitation Yuvraj needed.

With his trademark high backlift, he swung through the line effortlessly and sent the ball soaring over long-on for a massive six. The stadium erupted, the Aussie fielders could only watch and fans got hit with a nostalgia overdose. It was T20 World Cup 2007 all over again!

India Masters Off To A Strong Start

Put into bat first, India Masters have created a solid platform at 132/3 after 13 overs at the time of writing this article. Yuvraj Singh is in beast mode, smashing his way to 52 off just 26 balls, which includes six sixes.

At the other end, Stuart Binny is settling in on 2. Earlier in the innings, Sachin Tendulkar played a classy 42-run knock, rolling back the years himself. Meanwhile, Ambati Rayudu (5) and Pawan Negi (14) fell cheaply, but with Yuvi at the crease, India will be eyeing a massive total.

Australia Masters Under Pressure

Shane Watson’s Australia Masters currently have no answers to Yuvraj’s onslaught. The left-hander is dispatching balls into the stands for fun, and Doherty is felt the heat just like Australia’s bowlers did in 2007 when Yuvi dismantled them in Durban. The battle between Yuvi and left-arm spinners is one-sided and once again, history repeated itself!

With Yuvraj Singh in this kind of mood, 200 looks more than just a possibility—it looks inevitable. If he continues his onslaught, bowlers better start looking for cover because the sixes are going to keep raining down.
