Aaryavir Sehwag, the son of legendary Virender Sehwag, has failed to make an impact in his second match of the Delhi Premier League. He is part of the Central Delhi Kings and opened for them in Qualifier 1 against the East Delhi Riders.
The youngster smashed 22 off just 16 balls in the last match and there were expectations that he would start off on a bright note in the big Qualifier 1 too. However, he struggled against the new ball movement against the likes of Navdeep Saini and Rohit Yadav.
Central Delhi Kings were chasing just 91, and so pressure was not on the batter to score quickly. However, Navdeep Saini, in the very first over, made sure that the legendary batter's son felt the heat. He started off with a lovely inswinger, and Aaryavir Sehwag also chopped it onto his stumps while driving the ball.

Then, on the fifth ball of the opening over, Navdeep Saini bowled it back of the length, angling into the right-hander. Sehwag tried to pull it, but missed it completely, and the ball hit him on the box. It was quite a tough blow for the 17-year-old, and the physio immediately rushed onto the ground to help the youngster.
Aaryavir got back to his feet, but that blow probably kept playing in his mind, and in the second over, he was knocked over by Rohit Yadav. It was a length delivery, around off that nipped into the batter, and Aaryavir Sehwag just could not get bat his down in time.
Thus, he departed for one off five balls, and it has been a tough start for the youngster in the Delhi Premier League. His team, though, is now in the final of DPL 2025, and Aaryavir Sehwag would be hoping that he sets the big stage on fire just like his dad used to do.
