On Wednesday, December 24, Virat Kohli returned to the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time in 15 years as Delhi took on Andhra in the curtain-raiser game of the 33rd edition. Unfortunately for the fans, the match took place behind closed doors at the BCCI’s centre of excellence.
The fans were deprived to see their idol in action, but nonetheless, Virat made their day by slamming a century on his return. In the ongoing match, Andhra, batting first, put 298/8 on the board. In reply, Delhi lost an early wicket, but Virat took the onus on his shoulders.
Firsly, Virat completed 16000 List A runs and became the fastest Indian to do so. Later, Virat Kohli completed a 83-ball century, which included eleven fours and three sixes.
Virat Kohli closes gap on Sachin Tendulkar
For the unversed, Virat Kohli brought up his 58th List-A century and has now closed gap on Sachin Tendulkar. The master blaster finished his career with 60 centuries in List-A cricket.
It is a great day for India fans as both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma scored a ton today in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Notably, Virat returned to the pavillion after scoring 131 off 101.
Virat Kohli vs Nitish Kumar Reddy, a great battle
In the ongoing match, Nitish Kumar Reddy struck early and came up against Virat. However, the battle was won by the former India captain as he slammed the star all-rounder for runs, particularly a six over covers that left the players stunned on the field.

Notably, Virat Kohli will be available for another Vijay Hazare Trophy match when Delhi take on Gujarat on December 26. Following that, Virat will join the Indian camp for upcoming New Zealand series starting from January 11.
