Tim David against South Africa (Source:@RCBXTRAOFFICIA/X.com)
Tim David has been in great form in the last year or so and has continued that against South Africa. In the first match, when Australia looked down and out, Tim David unleashed a power-hitting masterclass. He slammed 83 off just 52 balls, and now in the second T20I, he has blasted another fifty.
David Counter-Attacks Against South Africa Again
The Australian superstar walked out to bat at number 4 and looked in supreme touch right from the onset. Like in the first match, Australia were two down early when Tim David walked out to the middle. However, the batter immediately got going and hit three consecutive fours to start off his innings.
He was brutal against pacers, hitting 37 of his runs against them, while he scored 13 runs in just four balls he faced from the spinners. He hit one six against Nqaba Peter, the leggie, which was smashed on the roof of the ground, a classic example of Tim David's brutal power.
Overall, Tim David scored 40 runs off boundaries from the total 50 he scored, and is turning out to be an important asset for Australia in the shortest format. However, just when it seemed that he would take the game away from the Proteas, Kagiso Rabada removed him.
Tim David Proves Himself As Consistent Performer In T20Is
Nevertheless, Tim David has shown insane consistency in the shortest format in recent times. He smashed a 37-ball 102 against the West Indies in the last series, and was one of the star performers for RCB in their title-winning campaign of IPL 2025.
Thus, David has taken his game to the next level in recent times, and is likely to play a big role in Australia's bid to win the 2026 T20 World Cup in India.
