Thailand secured a four-wicket victory over Pakistan in Match 10 of the Women's Asia Cup 2022 on Thursday (October 6) at Sylhet.

Pakistan posts an underwhelming total

Batting first, Pakistan got off to a stable start but lost Muneeba Ali (15) in the fifth over. Soon, the skipper Bismah Maroof (3) was involved in an unfortunate run-out.

The wickets certainly put pressure on the in-form Sidra Ameen and Nida Dar, who steered the team, rather at a slow rate. After the dismissal of Dar (12), Ameen finished on 56 off 64 balls and propelled Pakistan to a total of 116 on the board.

Sornnarin Tippoch was the pick of the bowlers for Thailand with two scalps.

Natthakan Chantham leads the way for Thailand

In response, Thailand opener Nannapat Koncharoenkai (13) stitched a 40-run stand with Natthakan Chantham, before getting dismissed in the ninth over.

The skipper Naruemol Chaiwai (17) was good support in the middle-order. Afterwards, it was a fighting knock from experienced Chantham who slammed 61 off 51 balls, laced with five fours and two sixes.

After the wicket of Chantham, Thailand still needed 10 off the last over. Then arrived, Rosenan Kanoh who kept her nerves to seal the game for the team and keep their hopes intact for the semi-finals.
