England Cricket Board (ECB) are all set to announce the list for the men's contract for the upcoming season and it is being alleged that Jason Roy will be dropped from a central contract to an increment deal after he was not picked in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The 32-year-old's axing comes after horrendous loss of form since the beginning of this year. Roy scored just 76 runs from 98 balls in six T20Is for England this summer before managing just 51 runs off 51 balls in six innings for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred.

On the other hand Ben Foakes is all set to receive his first central contract after becoming the first choice wicketkeeper batter for England in Tests.

Rob Key on Jason Roy

Managing Director of England Men's cricket, Rob Key, said that it was just a case of Roy trying to find his form. He stressed on the fact that he will have plenty of opportunities to get back into form by playing in T20 leagues all around the world.

"I would argue that the 50-over format is his strongest suit and we still see him as very much part of this setup.

But, given his white-ball summer and then The Hundred, we feel it's too much of a gamble to continue going into Pakistan and straight into Australia."

The report also states that Dawid Malan and Rory Burns will also drop to an increment deal. Malan been dropped from the Test team following the Ashes and only being first-choice in T20Is.
