Suryakumar Yadav is arguably the best T20 batter in the world and has been a consistent performer for Mumbai Indians in the last five years. In the IPL 2025 too, he is their leading run-scorer and in a crucial clash against DC, the batter has once again stepped up with a fighting knock.

In the process, he equalled Temba Bavuma's record of 13 consecutive scores of over 25 in T20s. He reached his fifty off 36 balls and despite wickets falling at the other end, kept MI going at the Wankhede. The batter though unleashed his full range in the final few overs, hitting DC bowlers all over the park, and ended with a score of 73 from 43 balls.
Temba Bavuma created that record from the period between 2019 and 2020 while the likes of Brad Hodge, Jacques Rudolph, Kumar Sangakkara, Chris Lynn and Kyle Mayers all have scored excess of 25 runs on 11 consecutive occasions.

Suryakumar Yadav's fireworks took Mumbai Indians to 180 when they were struggling to reach even 160 at one point in time. SKY also moved to the third position in the leading run-scorers list of IPL 2025, and now has 583 runs in 13 matches. Mumbai Indians will qualify for the playoffs if they win this game and DC would be eliminated.
