The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) started from where they left last season as the team continued their domination and attained another huge milestone in the ongoing IPL 2025 clash against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Their dangerous openers started the carnage and there was no stopping them as the RR bowlers looked helpless.

SRH smashed another IPL record

Their power-packed openers, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head came out all guns blazing and went toe-to-toe with each other in terms of shot-making as the duo added 45 runs inside 19 balls. Abhishek, then departed after playing a big shot, but the run-flow didn't stop as Ishan Kishan and Head continued the good work and in the process, they racked up 94 runs in 6 overs.

This was the fifth-highest power-play total in IPL history and it broke the record of 93/1, set by Punjab Kings against the Knight Riders, last season. Interestingly, SRH also have the first and the second highest powerplay scores, which, they achieved last season.
