Day 4 of the 2nd Test between India and England belonged to the visitors as the Shubman Gill-led side are all over the hosts and on course for their first win under Gill's leadership.
The captain scored a ton again and helped India put 427 runs on the board, posing a 608-run target for the Three Lions. The Ben Stokes-led side started the chase in the worst possible way as England lost three wickets in the last hour of the third session on Day 4.
Shubman Gill Loses Cool At Rishabh Pant
Akash Deep was the star with the ball as the right-arm seamer took two wickets. Despite things going well for the visitors, there was a moment of disagreement between the skipper and his deputy over a lost review.
Notably, India lost a review early on in the innings and had the chance to get rid of Joe Root early, which prompted another wasted DRS. The incident occurred when Prasidh Krishna was introduced into the attack.
Krishna bowled a fuller delivery that drifted down the leg side. Captain Shubman Gill wasn't much impressed with the appeal but was forced by Rishabh Pant and Prasidh Krishna to take one.
However, the replay showed that the ball missed the stumps and was way down the leg side. The replay angered Shubman Gill, and he approached Pant angrily, who immediately explained his case to the captain. However, Gill was unimpressed and gave an angry stare to Rishabh before moving back to his position.
Gill A Live Wire On The Field
Shubman Gill has been a live wire on the field as the right-handed batter was right besides his bowlers giving them instructions and also adhering to their demands regarding field setups.
Further, Shubman also was loud and vocal, expressing his liking and disliking on the field, making a solid statement as a captain.
