Shubman Gill’s century came at a crucial time for India after a disappointing first innings where he was dismissed for a duck. The young opener showcased immense resilience and skill, scoring his fifth Test century in the second innings. His partnership with Rishabh Pant was instrumental in propelling India to a dominant position. Gill’s ton was marked by a series of elegant strokes, including nine fours and three sixes, as he faced 161 deliveries to reach the milestone.

This century propelled Gill past Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Mayank Agarwal in the list of Indian players with the most centuries in the WTC, making him the second-highest century-scorer for India in this championship. Currently, Rohit Sharma holds the record with nine centuries in WTC matches.

In just three innings against Bangladesh, he has accumulated 276 runs, including two centuries, with a highest score of 119 not out. His batting average against them stands at a commendable 61.33, solidifying his reputation as a dependable top-order batsman.
