In a significant development, ace speedster Mohammad Shami has made a memorable entrance to the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) camp ahead of the IPL 2025. The video of his arrival was shared by SRH on their official social media platforms. 

Shami Set To Lead SRH’s Revamped Bowling Attack 

Shami's inclusion is particularly significant following his impressive performance in the recently concluded Champions Trophy. It is important to note that the veteran seamer finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. 

His excellent form in the Champions Trophy follows a successful comeback from an ankle injury that kept him out of action in 2024. After recovering from surgery, Shami made a strong return through domestic cricket with Bengal, which led to his participation in the white-ball series against England earlier in 2025.

Shami is now set to play a major role in SRH's revamped bowling attack, which will be led by the experienced Pat Cummins. The pace duo is expected to form a formidable combination that will spearhead SRH’s charge in the upcoming season. 

Will Shami Play A Crucial Role In SRH’s Bowling?

In the IPL mega auction, several teams bid for Shami's services, but it was SRH who successfully secured him for a hefty INR 10 crore. Over the last three seasons, he has consistently been one of the most reliable pacers in the IPL. Talking a look at Shami's stats he has played 110 matches and scalped 127 wickets at an economy of 8.43. 

His consistent performance makes him one of the crucial players to watch in IPL 2025 as he joins SRH’s bowling ranks.
