SA vs IND 3rd T20I | Playing 11 Prediction, Cricket Tips, Preview & Live Streaming

The rain-marred second T20I in Gqeberha on Tuesday gave the South Africans an unassailable lead over India in the three-match series, which now moves to its final destination in Johannesburg for the third game on Thursday (December 14).

As Men in Blue strive to attain equilibrium for the challenge, they confront the stiff nature of the conditions and hope to overcome their inexperience and lack of substance in the pace department, which was a huge point of difference in the second game.

The Proteas would look to continue on the winning ways and keep the pressure high on the tourists who have embarked upon a challenging all-format trip to the rainbow nation with the desire to rewrite the history books.

SA vs IND: Team Previews

South Africa

South Africa might consider bringing in an extra spinner in Keshav Maharaj into their line-up after gauging how the overs delivered by senior wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi (1/18) and even part-time spinner Aiden Markram (1/29) made a massive difference in the previous clash.

Before Markram was dispatched by India's valiant aggressor Rinku Singh for a pair of maximum in his final over, him and Shamsi had combined to give away figures of 2/31 off their previous six overs, which was perhaps the difference of about 20 runs to the end total for India.

With India showing slight indecisiveness in dealing with the Proteas spinners, Maharaj could've been a shoo-in for the third T20I if not for the ground conditions in Jo'burg, where the high pace and steep bounce amid small boundary dimensions could tilt the scales in favour of an extra pacer.

India

For India, the second T20I would've reinforced the horror run their backup fast-bowling is undergoing for quite some time now. The visitors will have to seriously reconsider left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh's slot as he continues to run in without any clear plan and shows poor execution with the ball.

Arshdeep was easily the weakest cog of the Indian wheel and went for figures of 0 for 31 off his 2 costly overs. The 24-year-old is showing little signs of improvement or resurrecting to his best from a torrid slump as he now holds an expensive economy rate of 8.73 after 41 matches in his T20I career.

In a short-term move, the team management could think of replacing him with Deepak Chahar as the third pacer and bolster the attack where India would hope Mohammed Siraj can shed his inconsistency and Mukesh Kumar shows more command with the new ball.

SA vs IND: Johannesburg Pitch Report

Considered one of the flattest pitches in the world with consistent fours and sixes and bumper scores observed over the years, the pitch at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg is expected to play to its traditional nature. No score could potentially be safe in such a setting as the ball flies over the ropes the iconic venue and the surface makes life extremely difficult for the pacers and spinners to contain the run-flow.

SA vs IND: Winner Prediction

The Proteas start as overwhelming favourites for the game after relishing their familiar conditions to great effect past an inexperienced Indian side in the second T20I. India will have to pack a really strong punch and overcome their blues in the pace department to have a chance of levelling the series 1-1.
