Johannesburg hosts the third and final T20I of the series (Twitter)
The iconic Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg plays host to the third and final T20I between hosts South Africa and India on Thursday (December 14).
With the series honours at stake, the Men in Blue strive to avenge the loss in the second T20I in Gqeberha on Tuesday, while the Proteas approach the final encounter with the intention of retaining their dominance.
The home side will be embracing another ground which caters to its strengths and gives an edge over the tourists, who were clearly taken aback by the extra skid and lift off the turf in the previous match.
Jo'burg is renowned for its high pace and rising bounce amid small boundary dimensions, which combine to make stroke-making a favourable task at the historic ground.
It could be another run-feast for cricket lovers to tune into as both sides pack a strong punch in their respective batting line-ups.
Wanderers Stadium Ground Stats
32 previous T20Is have been played at the ground since its inaugural match in the shortest format back in 2005 between the hosts and New Zealand. The ground has witnessed a near-equal record split for teams batting first and chasing of 15-17 as it provides a setting for bumper scores in the first half but also makes batting second a relatively easier task, with the ball flying on high altitude.

The team winning the toss should look to chase in Jo'burg as it entails greater clarity of approach with the bat and of the asking rate. The one batting first will have to almost certainly play with the pressure of knowing it requires an above-par score to stand a chance in the contest, which could lead to risks and wickets.
