Firebrand opener Rohit Sharma pounded a couple of huge maximums within the powerplay against RCB in match number 25 of the IPL 2024 season. Apart from launching Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep over the ropes upfront, Sharma also dispatched Vijaykumar Vyshak over deep midwicket for his third six of the evening as he raced to 22-ball 34* at the halfway stage of the Mumbai Indians innings.

Through his latest six-hitting frenzy against the RCB, the 37-year-old attained a significant batting record at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Through his latest batting spectacle against the RCB on April 11, Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma notched up the 100th six of his T20 career at the Wankhede Stadium.

Sharma’s landmark six came against RCB speedster Mohammed Siraj during the fifth over of the Mumbai Indians innings.

The legendary opening batter also extended his overall T20 tally to 497 maximums, and he currently finds himself just three sixes away from becoming only the fifth cricketer in history to scale 500 sixes in the shortest format of the game.

Rohit Sharma is already the leading six-hitter in international cricket with 597 maximums to his name. The cricketer achieved the same last year by going past West Indies juggernaut Chris Gayle.

Sharma’s innings was eventually curtailed by RCB’s Will Jacks at 24-ball 38. At the time of his dismissal, Mumbai Indians required another 58 runs from the remaining 52 deliveries.
