The ongoing second Test between India and England is well-poised, with cricket fans hoping to witness a cracking final day at Edgbaston in Birmingham. However, rain might spoil the high-voltage clash on an intriguing day 5 of the Test match.

Rain Likely To Play Spoilsport In IND vs ENG 2nd Test

The first four days of the Test saw uninterrupted action, with India taking control. Led by Shubman Gill's exceptional batsmanship, the visitors posted a massive total of 587 runs before restricting the hosts to 407 in their first innings.

India sustained their dominance over the English in the second innings, scoring 427 runs and setting a massive target of 608 runs for the home side. In response, England had a shaky start to their innings, losing quick wickets of Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley and the ever-reliable Joe Root inside 16 overs.

Thus, the stage is all set for a cracking day's play, with India requiring seven wickets to seal their first-ever win at the iconic venue. However, as things stand, rain could prevent the Shubman Gill-led side from scripting history at Edgbaston.

As reported by Revsportz, it has already started raining in Birmingham. A gloomy weather might welcome the players when they enter the ground ahead of the crucial morning session.
