The Mumbai Indians Vs Gujarat Titans match was set to be a riveting battle and it lived up to the expectations as both the sides produced quality cricket and the game swung like a pendulum throughout the course of the match at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

However, rain god had some other plans as it threatened to arrive throughout the game and it did occur when the match was evenly poised. The rain intensified as the players were taken off the field. However, GT won't mind that since they will be the winners if the game gets abandoned due to rain and here's why.

Why GT will win if the match Vs MI gets abandoned

The DLS par score starts after the 5th over of the second innings and when the rain stopped the play, 14 overs were being bowled and the par score was 99. However, GT were well ahead of the total as they accumulated 107 runs for the loss of 2 wickets, meaning they were 8 runs ahead.

The reason why GT were well ahead of MI was due to the cameo played by their Impact Sub, Sherfane Rutherford. The batter came back from injury in this contest and remained unbeaten at 26 off 12 as his little cameo helped GT edge past MI.

However, as things stands, the rain eased out and the covers were slowly taken off as GT will be the favourites to win if the entire game takes place (if the rain doesn't arrive again). If the full match happens, the Titans need 49 off 36 with 8 wickets in hand.
