Gujarat Titans (GT) player Rahul Tewatia is renowned as one of the top finishers in the IPL. He has been part of the league since 2014. However, it was in 2020 that he truly rose up to stardom after dim initial years.
In the high-voltage clash against RCB, Tewatia struck a magnificent 21-ball 35, helping the Titans post a formidable score despite early jitters. During his praiseworthy knock, the explosive finisher unlocked the 1000-run landmark.
Tewatia kickstarted his IPL journey with Rajasthan Royals back in 2014. He had stints with Punjab and Delhi Capitals as well after RR.
However, his return to Rajasthan in 2020, following a trade from Delhi, marked a significant turning point in his career. Since then, the 30-year-old all-rounder has become one of the best finishers in the IPL.
In the mega auction of 2022, Rahul Tewatia was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for a whopping nine crores. Tewatia played a crucial role in winning the title in 2022 for Gujarat Titans as their trusted finisher.
Apart from 1000 runs, he also has 32 IPL wickets as well. But with the impact player rule, he doesn't bowl often now.
Regarding the match, RCB chased the modest 148-run target easily, getting past the finish line with 6.2 overs to spare.
Although the hosts lost wickets at regular intervals after a breezy start, keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik guided them to glory through a valiant cameo.
