MS Dhoni has arrived in Dharamshala as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) gear up for their rematch against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. 

After losing the previous tie to Punjab at Chepauk, this upcoming contest holds immense importance for both teams as they aim to keep their playoff hopes alive.

A viral video of MS Dhoni at the Dharamsala airport has captured the attention of fans. With his trademark style and swag, Thala Dhoni appears focused, seemingly on a mission to lead CSK to the playoffs. 

Interestingly, Dharamshala stadium holds a special memory for Dhoni as well.


Throwback to Thala magic in 2010  that took CSK to semis 

In 2010, CSK faced Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) in a 'must win game' at Dharamsala. After losing the first tie at Chepauk, CSK needed a win to reach the semifinals. Batting first, Punjab scored 192 runs with Shaun Marsh scoring 88 runs.

Chennai struggled initially, reaching 26-2 in 5 overs. But Suresh Raina and Subramaniam Badrinath then took charge, taking Chennai forward against Punjab.

In the last 2 overs, CSK needed 29 runs with Dhoni and Albie Morkel at the crease. Dhoni's aggressive batting against Punjab secured a thrilling victory, with Dhoni scoring 54* runs off 29 balls.

This win took CSK to the semi-finals, and eventually, they won the final against Mumbai Indians to claim their first title.
