Ravichandran Ashwin took center stage in an unexpected manner at the end of the second day's play of the Test match between India and Bangladesh. After contributing significantly with the bat, the star off-spinner returned to the ground for an unusual reason—to dry his clothes.

As he spread his garments on the field, the remaining crowd erupted in laughter, with some fans playfully encouraging him to take up the role of an opening batsman.

Earlier in the day, India found themselves in deep trouble. The top order, including stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, collapsed in quick succession, leaving the team reeling at 144/6. The pressure was palpable as Bangladesh tightened the noose, sensing an opportunity to capitalise on India’s frailty. However, Ashwin, along with Ravindra Jadeja, put up a resilient fight.

The duo stitched together a crucial 199-run partnership, lifting India from a precarious position to a respectable total. Ashwin's century off 133 balls was a masterclass in perseverance and skill. Jadeja, ever the dependable partner, contributed a steady 86, remaining unbeaten as the innings concluded.

As the day’s play came to an end, Ashwin, who had just carried India through a difficult phase, provided the fans with a memorable celebration. He returned to the ground, but not for a typical victory lap or to acknowledge the crowd's applause. Instead, he casually laid out his clothes on the ground to dry, eliciting a wave of laughter and cheers.

India Dominate Against Bangladesh

On the third day, India declared their second innings at 287/4, amassing a daunting 514-run lead. Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill shone brightly, scoring centuries and setting up an imposing target. With India in control, Ashwin’s on-field antics served as a delightful reminder of the lighter side of cricket, blending serious performances with moments of sheer joy.
