India’s stand-in captain Smriti Mandhana notched up her maiden T20I century through the course of her innings against England Women in the first match of the series at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The seasoned opener compiled 112 runs off just 62 balls with 15 fours and three huge sixes as India Women mounted 210-5 from 20 overs.
Mandhana’s innings also shattered numerous batting records in Indian cricket. For instance, the soon-to-be 29-year-old has now become the first women’s cricketer in Team India history to have scored centuries in each of the three international formats.

Opening the innings with Shafali Verma, Indian stand-in captain Smriti Mandhana crafted 77 runs off the first wicket in less than nine overs, before sharing another 94 runs with number three batter Harleen Deol.
Mandhana even notched up a 51-ball 100*, before eventually concluding her innings for 112 from 62 balls to tonk her maiden T20I century.
