Lahore Qalandars bounced back in style in Match 4 of PSL 2025 as they thrashed Quetta Gladiators by 79 runs at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Powered by explosive knocks from Fakhar Zaman (67) and Sam Billings (50* off 19), Lahore posted a colossal 219/6.
Quetta never got going in the chase, with Shaheen Afridi and Rishad Hossain ripping through the lineup. Despite a quickfire 44 from Rilee Rossouw, the Gladiators were bundled out for 140, handing Lahore a massive win.
Hereโs the timeline of how QG vs LQ panned out in Rawalpindi-
Fakhar Zaman And Abdullah Shafique Lay The Foundation
Lahore Qalandars were off to a flying start after being put in to bat with Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique setting the tone early. Although Mohammad Naeem fell quickly for 10, Fakhar and Shafique didnโt let the momentum drop. The pair added a blistering 56-run stand off just 30 balls as the Qalandars cruised past the 70-run mark inside eight overs.

Shafique was the aggressor as he smashed 37 off just 21 balls with six boundaries and a six before falling to a return catch by Akeal Hosein. On the other hand, Fakhar Zaman looked in vintage touch as he brought up his fifty in just 30 balls and setting up Lahore for a massive total.

Daryl Mitchell Joins Fakhar As Middle-Overs Carnage Unfolds
After Shafiqueโs dismissal, Daryl Mitchell walked in and didnโt take long to get going. Together with Fakhar, the Kiwi batter took the attack to the Quetta bowlers, adding 50 runs in quick time.
Mitchell looked fluent, scoring 37 off 23 deliveries with four fours and a six. Fakhar followed soon after Mitchell's stumping, falling for a well-made 67 off 39 balls, laced with seven boundaries and three sixes. At one point, Lahore were 153/4 in the 15th over, perfectly poised to launch in the final five.

Sam Billings Explodes At The Death
If Lahoreโs start was electric, the finish was absolute fireworks courtesy of Sam Billings. Coming in at No. 6, the English wicketkeeper-batter blitzed an unbeaten 50 off just 19 balls, lighting up Rawalpindi with four fours and as many sixes.

He took apart Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Amir in the death overs, pushing Lahore past 200 in the 19th over. Even after losing Shaheen Afridi late, Billings and Rishad Hossain ensured Lahore ended on a high at 219/6 in 20 overs.
Quetta Top-Order Collapses Like A House Of Cards
Chasing a huge 220, Quetta Gladiators had the worst possible start. Shaheen Shah Afridi breathed fire, removing both Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen inside the first three overs. Add to that the cheap dismissal of Hasan Nawaz, and Quetta were staring down the barrel at 9/3.

The only resistance came in the form of a quickfire counter-attack from Kusal Mendis, who smoked 28 off 14, and Rilee Rossouw, who went full beast mode with a blazing 44 off just 19 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes. Together, they briefly gave Quetta a fighting chance, lifting the score to 89 by the end of the 9th over. But just when it looked like the tide might turn, Rishad Hossain struck to remove Rossouw and the chase began to crumble once again.

Lower-Order Fight Fizzles Out Quickly
Once Rossouw walked back, the writing was on the wall. Quetta's middle and lower order simply couldn't weather the storm. Shoaib Malik, Akeal Hosein, and Faheem Ashraf all got starts but none could carry the innings deep.

Sikandar Raza, with his golden arm, chipped in with two wickets and kept things tight. Meanwhile, Rishad Hossain cleaned up the tail and finished with 3 wickets for 31 runs. Quetta were bowled out for 140 in 16.2 overs, losing by a massive 79-run margin.
