Abrar Ahmed is turning heads and turning games. The Quetta Gladiators spinner is in red-hot form and he showed it once again in Match 4 of PSL 2025 against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday.

Abrar Ahmed Claims Fazal Mahmood Cap

The mystery man from Pakistan struck early, grabbed a big wicket and zoomed past everyone to become the tournament’s leading wicket-taker. Ahmed has bee on fire and it doesn’t look like he is cooling down anytime soon.

It was the third ball of the third over when Abrar worked his magic. He dished out a slower one on a good length. Mohammad Naeem backed away, eyeing a cut through the off side. But the bat missed, and the ball kissed timber.

That wicket took him past Jason Holder in the wickets tally and Abrar now sits pretty on top with five scalps to his name in two matches and is the owner of the Fazal Mahmood Cap, which is awarded to the leading wicket taker in PSL.

Abrar had already kicked off the tournament with a bang. In the first game against Peshawar Zalmi, he ran riot. Figures of 4 for 42 in four overs, and Quetta bowled them out for 136. It was a one-man show, and thanks to him, the Gladiators cruised to an 80-run win.

QUE vs LAH Live Score

Meanwhile, as of now, Lahore Qalandars are 117 for 2 after 12 overs. Fakhar Zaman is batting beautifully on 49 off 29, and Daryl Mitchell is holding steady with 20 off 14. Abrar’s bowled two overs so far, given away just 13 runs, and bagged that crucial early wicket. But don’t count him out yet, there is more to come. He is the kind of bowler who can rip through a side in no time.

If Quetta want to keep Lahore in check, Abrar will be the key. He has got the variations, the control and that unplayable mystery element. Another couple of wickets in his kitty tonight wouldn’t be a surprise at all.
