Young Indian batter Pratika Rawal etched her name in history books, as she slammed her fifth consecutive fifty-plus score in Women's ODIs. The stylish right-handed batter achieved the milestone during India's ongoing clash against South Africa in the Women's Tri-Nation Series in Sri Lanka.

Pratika Rawal Enters Elusive List Featuring Mithali And Perry

Opening the batting for India Women, Pratika Rawal showcased exemplary skill and resilience, leaving the Proteas Women stunned with her blitzkreig. She has been incredibly consistent in Women's ODIs, having amassed five successive fifty-plus scores in the format.

With the latest half-century against South Africa, Pratika Rawal became only the second Indian batter after Mithali Raj to notch up five consecutive fifty-plus scores in Women's ODIs.

Apart from Mithali and Rawal, legendary cricketers Charlotte Edwards and Ellyse Perry are the other cricketers to achieve the remarkable feat. Interestingly, Australia's talismanic all-rounder Perry has done it thrice in her career, establishing herself as one of the finest the game has ever seen.

Pratika Rawal Becomes Fastest To 500 Runs In Women's ODIs

In another achievement, Rawal also became the fastest to score 500 runs in Women's ODIs, unlocking the feat in just eight international innings. She has exhibited extraordinary consistency since making her debut against West Indies Women at home.

She amassed 310 runs at a Bradman-esque average of 108.39 and a strike rate of 103.33 against Ireland Women in January. She kickstarted the Tri-Series with a bang, slamming a match-winning half-century for the Indian team in the opening game against Sri Lanka.

Talking about the game, India Women are cruising towards a whopping score. Although Rawal departed for a glorious 91-ball 78, Jemimah Rodrigues (41 off 32), Harleen Deol and Harmanpreet Kaur chipped in with valuable contributions, ensuring India Women's competitive total.

As of writing, India Women were 233 for four, with Kaur and Richa Ghosh batting on 25* and 12*, respectively.
