14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history by becoming the youngest player ever to score a century in men's T20 cricket. He played a sensational innings for Rajasthan Royals, helping them beat Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets in an IPL 2025 match held in Jaipur.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shines With His Bat

On Monday, Vaibhav went all out. He smashed a stunning 101 runs off just 38 balls. He took on the Gujarat bowlers fearlessly, smashing 11 sixes and 7 fours, and helped his team chase down a big total of 209 in only 15.5 overs.

The left-handed batter reached his century in just 35 balls, which is also the second-fastest hundred ever in the IPL. He shared a brilliant 166-run opening partnership with teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Before the match even started, Vaibhav already had this knock in his mind. According to his childhood coach Manish Ojha, Vaibhav called him first thing in the morning. After a quick chat about technique and footwork, the youngster boldly said,

“Sir, aaj mai marunga.” (Sir, today I’m going to smash it.)

Coach Ojha replied calmly,

“Maarna, par wicket mat dena. Itminaan se khelna, Yashasvi se baat karte rehna.” (Hit the ball, but don’t throw your wicket. Play with patience and keep talking to Yashasvi.)

That evening, Vaibhav walked out to bat, exchanged a fist bump with Yashasvi, and then wrote his name into the record books.

Vaibhav Receives Standing Ovation From Legends

After his incredible knock, everyone, from teammates to support staff, gave him a standing ovation. Even Rahul Dravid, despite dealing with an injury, stood up without support and clapped passionately to celebrate the teenager’s big moment.

Vaibhav’s fearless batting came against top international bowlers like Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Rashid Khan, and Karim Janat. But he didn’t hold back. He hit clean, powerful shots and never looked under pressure.
