According to emerging reports, Rajasthan Royals' latest batting mainstay Vaibhav Suryavanshi could be drafted into India's under-19 squad that will travel to England this June. Recently, the swashbuckling southpaw became an overnight sensation following his historic century against Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL season.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi To Get Picked For England Tour
As per the Times Of India (TOI), India's under-19 team will tour England to face the hosts in five ODIs and two Test matches. The much-anticipated series will coincide with the senior teams' England tour this summer.
The report states that the latest IPL batting sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, is all set to get picked for the upcoming England tour. In RR's latest game against Gujarat Titans, Suryavanshi etched his name in history, scoring 101 runs off just 38 deliveries.
The selectors could also prefer Mumbai's promising talent Ayush Mhatre, who has looked sublime in his brief stint with the Chennai Super Kings.
The tour will give a golden opportunity to both these youngsters to showcase their mettle and fine-tune their skills ahead of next year's u19 World Cup in Namibia and Zimbabwe.
It's worth mentioning that both these batters were a part of India's under-19 team that played the Asia Cup last year. Despite their heroics, the Indian team lost to Bangladesh in the final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
They have grabbed the limelight through a string of exceptional batting outings. While Suryavanshi became IPL's youngest centurion last night, Mhatre has been sublime, playing quick-fire cameos for the Super Kings at the top order.
