Punjab Kings continued their domination in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and their latest victim was Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians. In a game where the stakes were high, Punjab Kings triumphed over the former IPL champions to secure their place in the top 2.

PBKS set to play in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025

After the win over MI, PBKS have 19 points and irrespective of RCB Vs LSG match result, tomorrow, the Punjab side will remain in top 2 of the points table and will play in the Qualifier 1 on Thursday, May 29.

Finishing in top 2 is of utmost importance since the teams get two chances to reach the finale. Hence, even if PBKS lose their Qualifier 1 game, they will get another chance to reach the finals, which will take place on June 3.

After a heartbreaking loss, MI will remain 4th in the points table and will play the Eliminator on Friday, May 30.

Priyansh Arya, Josh Inglis thrash MI to secure emphatic win

Mumbai Indians were put into bat and the decision paid off for Punjab as MI couldn't deliver and lost wickets at regular intervals.

It was once again Suryakumar Yadav, who stood tall and created a world record of most 25-plus scores in T20 history in a row. He scored a brisk half-century as MI posted 184/7. In reply, despite losing Prabhsimran Singh early, the duo of Priyansh Arya and Josh Inglis tore apart the MI attack. The duo added 109 runs for the second wicket and laid the foundation for a brilliant victory.

MI now will have to wait for the result of the RCB Vs LSG game to determine their Elminator opponent. If RCB loses, they will play against MI, in case RCB win, GT will fall to third.
