The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will reportedly be organising a grand tribute for the Indian Armed Forces during the final of the IPL 2025 season. It is worth noting that the BCCI had paused IPL 2025 for 10 days earlier this month in light of India’s escalating cross-border tensions with geo-political rivals Pakistan.

With Pakistan launching a full-scale missile attack on several northern regions of India, the Indian Armed Forces mounted a swift and resilient counter-response, drawing nationwide praise for their bravery and resolve.

IPL 2025 closing ceremony to be dedicated to Armed Forces

As per Sportstar, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has confirmed that the IPL 2025 closing ceremony will be dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces. The final match will be hosted by the grand Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3.

Several venues of the IPL 2025 season have already showered their tributes towards the Indian Armed Forces since the resumption of the tournament. Last week, the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai roared ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ in tribute to the Army during Mumbai Indians’ blockbuster home match against Delhi Capitals.

On May 9, i.e., a day after IPL 2025 was put to a halt by the BCCI citing security concerns, former BCCI secretary and current ICC Chairman Jay Shah also saluted the Indian Army by sharing a stirring message on his Instagram account.

The IPL 2025 season is currently on the verge of heading into the playoffs’ territory. The knockouts will launch with the first qualifier in Mullanpur on May 29.
