Pakistan's Saud Shakeel Creates World Record; Becomes First Batter To Achieve 'This' Unbelievable Feat

In the second Test match against Sri Lanka at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo, left-handed batter Saud Shakeel achieved a remarkable milestone in Test cricket. He became the first-ever batter in the history of the game to score a half-century in each of the first seven matches at the start of his career.

This impressive feat surpassed the previous records set by renowned players like India's Sunil Gavaskar, Pakistan's Saeed Ahmed, West Indies' Basil Butcher, and New Zealand's Bert Sutcliffe, who had all scored half-centuries in each of their first six Tests.

Notably, Shakeel's outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award in the first Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which Pakistan won by four wickets in Galle. During that match, Shakeel achieved a career-best score of 208 not out in the first innings, further establishing his talent and potential in the cricketing world.

Additionally, he became only the second Pakistan batter to hit a double century in his debut Test match played away from home.

Saud Shakeel's Test career has begun with tremendous promise, and Pakistan is optimistic about having him as a stable option in their middle order for the long term. As his performance has been outstanding, there's a possibility that Shakeel might secure a spot among the batters who have scored the fastest 1000 runs in Test cricket.

Since Pakistan has already built a substantial lead of over 200 runs in the second Test against Sri Lanka, it seems unlikely that Shakeel will get another chance to bat in this match. However, if he manages to score 125 more runs, he will reach the milestone of 1000 runs. Should he achieve this feat in the first Test in Perth, he could become the second-fastest player to reach 1000 runs in terms of the number of Test matches played. His rapid progress in his Test career makes him a promising prospect for Pakistan's future.
