Many days after receiving clearance and No Objection Certificates from the Pakistan Cricket Board, Pakistan all-rounder Aamir Jamal made a solid impact in the Bangladesh Premier League while turning out for Chattogram Royals in the 19th match of BPL 2025–26.
The right-arm medium-fast bowler picked up three wickets in his four overs to rattle the Rajshahi Warriors with a disciplined bowling spell. Notably, he is just continuing his marvellous spell with the ball as he did in the previous four league matches.
How Aamir Jamal dismantled Rajshahi Warriors in BPL
Aamir Jamal impressed from the outset, striking on the fifth delivery of the 7th over to dismiss Warriors opener Tanzid Hasan. Bangladesh veteran Mushfiqur Rahim was his next victim, as the experienced wicketkeeper-batter departed for 15 runs.
Jamal then claimed his third scalp in the 17th over by removing Akbar Ali, leaving the Warriors struggling at 105/7. Overall, Jamal delivered a highly effective performance and maintained pressure throughout his spell.
Jamal conceded just 23 runs in his four overs, finishing with one of the lowest economy rates among the Royals bowlers. For the unaware, the 29-year-old all-rounder has built a strong reputation across regional T20 leagues, having previously featured in the Pakistan Super League for Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.
Aamir Jamal makes a strong case for World Cup inclusion
He is also a handy lower-order batter. At the international level, Jamal has represented Pakistan in six T20Is, scoring 88 runs and taking two wickets, while in ODIs, he has played three matches and claimed three wickets.
Jamal has made a significant impact for Chattogram Royals in this season of the BPL and will be one to watch in the upcoming matches. He now has 10 wickets from five games in the tournament and carried forward his fine form after taking a four-wicket haul against Sylhet Titans on January 7.
Jamal’s all-round heroics in general, and his recent bowling performances in particular, could keep the Pakistan team selectors engaged ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 squad announcement.
He has been around the circuit for a considerable period, and with his scintillating form in the BPL 2025–26, he could well earn serious consideration. If Pakistan is looking to nurture him further as a national prospect, Jamal might just be in line for an opportunity at the marquee tournament.
