PAK Vs NZ: Rain Interrupts Play; Will Pakistan Win The Match On DLS Method?

In a significant development, rain and inclement weather has interrupted the high-voltage clash between Pakistan and New Zealand. Chasing a mammoth total of 402 runs, Pakistan cruised to 160 for one in 21.3 overs before rain intervened in the game. As per DLS method, Pakistan are ten runs ahead of the target at the moment. So, if the game doesn't resume, the Men in Green will win the match by a narrow ten-run margin.

Chasing 402, Pakistan had a disastrous start to their innings, losing Abdullah Shafique early in the innings, thanks to a sensational catch from New Zealand captain Kane Williamson.

However, Shafique’s opening partner Fakhar Zaman took on the Kiwi bowlers right from the word go, hammering a belligerent ton in this process.

The swashbuckling southpaw struck seven glorious boundaries and nine massive sixes during the course of his knock, while Babar played the anchor’s role to perfection at the other end. But, unfortunately for Pakistan, rain played spoilsport just when they seemed to have taken control in the game.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand powered themselves to a mammoth 401-run total, riding on scintillating knocks from Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson and valuable contributions from the other batters.
