An absolute scene took place at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday (November 4) during Australia’s high-voltage clash against England in Match 36 of the World Cup 2023.

It happened when Mark Wood came to bowl the fifth ball of the 31st over against Cameron Green. The Englishman went for a short delivery at express pace, which Green went for a pull, only to get a huge top edge.

In the process, the bat slipped out from Green’s hands and almost hit Chris Gaffaney, who was at square leg as a leg-umpire.

To make matters more entertaining, the ball landed safely in between three fielders, including the bowler himself, as Green survived after chaos in the middle.

There were reactions across the stadium, with Stokes holding his head, and Buttler laughing uncontrollably.
