NZ vs WI statistical preview 3rd T20I [Source: @BLACKCAPS/X.com]
The five-match T20I series between West Indies and New Zealand now stands at 1-1 after the hosts secured a narrow three-run win in the second T20I against the West Indies. The third T20I has been scheduled at Saxton Oval in Nelson on November 9, and the live action for fans will begin at 5:45 a.m. IST.
New Zealand
New Zealand saw a massive contribution with the bat from Mark Chapman, who unprecedentedly made 78 runs of just 28 balls to give a massive boost to the hosts' scorecard.
West Indies put up a fighting chase but faltered as Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner continued to put pressure on the West Indies batting lineup. Hence, the Santner-led team will once again try to handicap the visitors and bag the third T20I to gain a 2-1 advantage.
West Indies
West Indies bowlers Akeal Hosein and Jayden Seales took quite a beating in the 2nd T20I and will look to regroup alongside their spearheads Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd for the 3rd T20I. Although Shepherd and Rovman Powell almost gave New Zealand a nightmare, they ultimately failed to secure the win.
However, they will hope for a strong performance from Brandon King at the top, along with Alick Athanaze, to make their mark at Sexton Oval and gain an edge in the series.

Saxton Oval Nelson pitch report
The Saxton Oval pitch in Nelson is usually a batting-friendly surface that often produces high scores in T20I cricket. The pitch offers good pace and bounce, allowing batters to time their shots cleanly. However, spinners tend to find some purchase as the match progresses and the surface wears down.
As the game goes on, the pitch is expected to flatten out, making chasing easier. Although teams batting first have historically enjoyed more success here, the captain winning the toss at Saxton Oval might still opt to bowl first.
