The Hobart Hurricanes have finalised their squad for the Women’s Big Bash League 2025 season with the return of Scotland all-rounder Kathryn Bryce. The franchise confirmed her re-signing via social media, rounding off a well-balanced group.

Bryce, who made her WBBL debut last season, impressed as an ICC Associate Rookie. Her re-signing is seen as a smart move by the Hurricanes, who are keen to strengthen their all-round options heading into a crucial season. 

Elyse Villani to lead Hobart Hurricanes in WBBL 11

The Hobart Hurricanes Women squad for WBBL 11 includes many experienced campaigners in the form of Elyse Villani, Nicola Carey, Heather Graham, and Molly Strano, all of whom bring leadership and big-match experience.

Captain Villani and Carey will once again be central to the team’s batting core, while Graham’s all-round skills continue to be a key asset.

The Hurricanes have retained the overseas firepower with three world-class players, namely Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Lizelle Lee, and Nat Sciver-Brunt, three world-class players known for their game-changing abilities. 

Among the domestic names, youngsters such as Rachel Trenaman, Ruth Johnston, and Isabella Malgioglio are expected to play pivotal roles. 

The team also possesses an effective spin department with Amy Smith, Lauren Smith, and Linsey Smith, while Callie Wilson adds a depth of pace to the attack.

Head coach Jude Coleman will be delighted with the quality unit that he will have at his disposal as the Hurricanes look to build on their previous seasons and make a serious push for the WBBL title. 

With balance across batting, bowling, and all-round departments, the team seems all set to take on the upcoming challenges.
