It turned out to be a one-sided affair for the West Delhi Lions, as the Nitish Rana-led side earned the Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 2025 title after beating the Central Delhi Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The final saw some excellent knocks from the bats of Yugal Saini and Pranshu Vijayran; however, it was Nitish Rana who scored 79* to take his side to victory by six wickets.

Here, we take a look at the highlights of the final of the Delhi Premier League 2025, as it panned out at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, August 31.

Central Delhi Smash 173 After Yugal Saini, Pranshu Vijayran's Effort

In a crucial final, the West Delhi Lions won the toss and put the Central Delhi Kings into bat, as they reached 173 after 20 overs, losing seven wickets.

Yugal Saini was the star for the Kings, scoring 65 off 48 deliveries, with four boundaries and three maximums at a strike rate of 135.42, while Pranshu Vijayran supported him by scoring 50 not out off 24 deliveries, with three boundaries and four maximums at a strike rate of 208.33.

Following these two knocks, the Central Delhi side reached a score that seemed above par for the venue.

However, for the West Delhi side, Manan Bhardwaj and Shivank Vashisht each claimed two wickets. Bharadwaj was economically efficient, taking his wickets at an economy of just 3.7, as he gave away only 11 runs in his three overs.

West Delhi Lifts The Trophy As Skipper Nitish Rana Goes Berserk

Chasing 174 for the title victory, the West Delhi Lions started poorly, losing two wickets for just 15 runs in two overs. However, despite that, skipper Nitish Rana took the onus and kept striking boundaries, punishing the Central Delhi bowlers left and right, as runs started to flow from Rana's bat.

Rana went on to score 79 not out off 49 deliveries, with four boundaries and seven maximums, while he was very well supported by Hrithik Shokeen, who scored 42 not out from 27 deliveries with five boundaries, striking two sixes, with one of them becoming the winning shot.

The West Delhi Lions chased the score down in 18 overs, with six wickets to spare, as they lifted the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 title comfortably at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

From the Central Delhi Kings' side, Simarjeet Singh picked up two wickets for 35 runs in his four overs, while Tejas Baroka took one wicket after giving away only 21 runs in his four overs. Despite these efforts, it was not enough to stop the West Delhi juggernaut, who went on to lift their maiden DPL title.
