It was another statement knock from the Indian batter Rinku Singh in the Uttar Pradesh Premier League at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Leading his side, Meerut Mavericks, Rinku Singh played a fine, unbeaten 78-run knock off 48 deliveries.
Rinku Singh's 78* Powers Meerut To Comfortable Victory
Leading from the front, ace Indian batter and currently the star player of Meerut Mavericks in the Uttar Pradesh Premier League (UP T20), Rinku Singh played a handsome 78-run, unbeaten knock off 48 deliveries as he blazed, hitting six boundaries and as many maximums during his knock, while batting at a strike rate of 162.50.
All this happened after the Kashi Rudras side, who batted first, could only manage 135 after 20 overs, whereas, in reply, the Mavericks chased the score down with seven wickets to spare and in just 15.4 overs, as they had 26 deliveries remaining.
Singh, who came in to bat after the fall of the third wicket, staged an outstanding 113-run partnership with Madhav Kaushik for the fourth wicket, as the Mavericks won comfortably in the end.
Rinku, during his knock, went berserk, especially in the final two overs, where he went against Shiva Singh and Atal Bihari Rai, smashing five sixes in the last two overs alongside two boundaries. Overall, his knock contained six maximums that were overly typical of Rinku.
Rinku Continues Excellent Form In UP T20 League
As for Rinku, the 27-year-old has been in terrific form in this UP T20 league, where, in seven innings, he has scored 295 runs at an average of 59, while his strike rate is impressive at 170.52. So far in the tournament, he has smashed another half-century and a ton.
His century came against Gorakhpur Lions in the ninth match of the season, where Rinku scored 108 off 48 deliveries, while his 57 came against Lucknow Falcons, as he has been on a roll this season, doing an outstanding job so far.
As for the Mavericks, they are currently second on the table with five wins in nine games, having accumulated 10 points, and are not far away from qualification.
Rinku's good form is a positive sign for the Indian side, who are set to play in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, where they will open their account against the UAE on September 10th, while the biggest challenge will come against Pakistan on September 14th in Dubai.
