Brandishing his bat at CSK bowlers at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Rana smeared seven boundaries and four huge sixes by the time of reaching his 50, recording his 19th fifty-plus score in IPL in the process.

Nitish Rana, on the heels of successive batting failures against KKR and SRH respectively over the past one week, came out all guns blazing against CSK bowlers in Guwahati in match 11 of the IPL 2025 season in Guwahati. The blistering left-handed batter clattered a 21-ball half-century, doing so with seven boundaries and four maximums, achieving the feat well inside the opening powerplay itself after arriving to the crease in the first over.

Here, we take a look at three of the fastest half-centuries recorded in the IPL 2025 season after Nitish Rana’s moment of mayhem in Guwahati.

Prior to the match, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad had won the toss and opted to field first. His fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed responded well to the call as he trapped Rajasthan Royals’ opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal in just the third match of the innings for just four.

Batting at number three, Nitish Rana took over the run-scoring onus with fellow senior man Sanju Samson as the two cricketers shared a counterattacking 82-run partnership in just 42 balls. At the halfway stage of the innings, the Rajasthan Royals reached 100-2.
