Nicholas Pooran listed a scintillating 67 against India in the second T20I of their five-match series. Batting at number four, the dynamic left-hander arrived to the crease within the opening over of the innings and orchestrated a match-winning run-chase for his side.

West Indies went 2-0 up in the series and Pooran was fittingly adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’ for his efforts.

Through his heroic knock, the cricketer also claimed a number of batting records in all T20Is against India.

Pooran completes 500 T20I runs against India

Nicholas Pooran completed 500 runs against India in T20Is through the course of his recent match-winning knock. He became only the second batsman in history to achieve the landmark after former Australian captain Aaron Finch.

In all, Pooran has extended his tally against India to 524 runs at an average of nearly 35. He is currently the highest run-getter across all T20I matches against them.

Moreover, the left-hander listed the 10th half-century of his T20I career and his fifth against India. In doing so, he soared past Colin Munro, Quinton de Kock and England captain Jos Buttler (four each) in registering most T20I half-centuries in all matches against the ‘Men in Blue’.

Pooran will now turn up for the West Indies in the third T20I of the series on August 8. The match is scheduled to be played at the Providence Stadium, before action shifts to USA’s Lauderhill for the final two games.
