Melbourne Renegades secured a nervy four-wicket win over hosts Perth Scorchers in Perth. Oliver Peake hogged the limelight with the bat in a tense run-chase by launching a huge six off the last ball of the game.

Hassan takes two, Sandhu induces dramatic Scorchers collapse
Perth Scorchers lost opener Finn Allen and number three Cooper Connolly both early inside the powerplay overs to Gurinder Sandhu and Jason Behrendorff (1-11) respectively. Mitchell Marsh listed 27 off 25 balls at the top on a difficult surface, while number four Aaron Hardie top-scored in the innings with his swift 44-run knock.
Despite racing to 111-5 around the 16-over mark, Perth Scorchers still folded up for just 127 in 19.2 overs, with Gurinder Sandhu (4-28) and a couple of run outs cleaning up the hosts’ tail. Hassan Khan (2-26) also chipped in with two key wickets in the middle overs, including the prized scalp of Mitchell Marsh.
Oliver Peake plays a calculated blinder in low-scoring cracker
Chasing 128, Melbourne Renegades started off with a 26-run opening partnership in just three overs between Josh Brown and Tim Seifert before both cricketers were dismissed by Joel Paris (1-7) and to a run out respectively. Mohammad Rizwan at number three struggled to get going at 21 from 25 balls, as a wicket apiece from Jhye Richardson, Cooper Connolly (1-20) and Ashton Turner (1-1) reduced the Renegades to 72-5 around 13 overs.
Captain Will Sutherland chipped in with a sluggish 15 in his match-defining 42-run partnership with Oliver Peake, who remained unbeaten at 42* from 30 balls with four fours and a six. The lone six he struck in the innings came off the very last ball as Renegades sealed a thrilling four-wicket win in a low-scoring cracker.
