The schedule of Australia’s upcoming three-match T20I tour of Pakistan has reportedly been unveiled. The short series between the two sides later this month will mark their final set of dress rehearsal for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
As per reports, the three T20I matches between Australia and hosts Pakistan will be played between January 29 and February 1.
Tentative schedule for Pakistan vs Australia T20Is out
As reported by Pakistan journalist Kiran Khan on Tuesday, January 6; the Australian cricket team will be touring Pakistan later this month to play a short three-match T20I series. The series itself will serve as a testing ground for both sides before next month’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The report also indicated that while the Australian team will likely be arriving in Pakistan on either January 26 or January 27, the series-opening first T20I will be played on January 29. The second and third T20Is will be played on back-to-back days on January 31 and February 1, as per the tentative schedule.
As of now, several Australian T20 World Cup 2026 players are either engaged in the home Ashes series against England or in the BBL 2025-26 season. The Pakistan team, on the other hand, will soon be taking on Sri Lanka for a series of three T20Is in Dambulla between January 7 and January 11.
India vs Pakistan to headline T20 World Cup 2026
The Pakistan team is placed in Group A of the 2026 T20 World Cup alongside Netherlands, Namibia, USA and tournament co-hosts India. Under the leadership of Salman Agha, Pakistan will face Netherlands in the opening match of the competition on February 7 in Colombo.
The Australian team is placed in Group B alongside Ireland, Oman, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka and their first match is scheduled to be played on February 11 against Ireland.
