In a satisfying news for CSK fans, Matheesha Pathirana, one of the most lethal death-over specialists around, will return to action on Tuesday (March 26) when they face Gujarat Titans in Match 7 of the IPL 2024 at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.

CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad confirmed the update during the toss time alongside Shubman Gill, who opted to field first without making any changes in the playing XI.

Among other things, Shardul Thakur failed to get a place in CSK’s playing XI, as Tushar Deshpande, Deepak Chahar, and in-form Mustafizur Rahman kept their places in the lineup as frontline pacers. Pathirana, meanwhile, replaced another Sri Lankan sensation Maheesh Theekshana, who did not have a great outing in the tournament opener against RCB.

Notably, there might be a chance of Rachin Ravindra bowling tonight, given that CSK only have Ravindra Jadeja as their designated spinner.
